If your cat is like mine, you probably hesitate to buy them toys or beds knowing there’s a good chance they’ll play with the packaging and completely ignore the actual product you bought for them.
I’ve given away countless toys to friends because my cat, Buddy, had absolutely no interest in the special purchase I made for him. Luckily, I finally found the golden ticket of cat accessories, and after 12 years with Buddy, I learned something new about him: I never knew he was a pickup man!
I set his Kitty 150 on the floor expecting it would take him a few days to warm up to this new piece of furniture. I figured eventually he’d realize it was for him.
I went outside to do some yard work, came back in, and found Buddy sound asleep in the bed of the Kitty 150.
Not only was he using it, he was asleep. To me, that meant he felt comfortable and safe enough to completely let his guard down.
You just won’t find him sleeping there on Friday nights. He’s been in the truck bed ever since I brought it home.
The Kitty 150 features scratch pads on the wheels and grille, plus a spring-mounted toy inside the cab. So far, Buddy has mostly been lounging in his truck. I’ve yet to catch him playing with the ball or scratching the wheels, but apparently he knows exactly what part of the truck is most important: the bed.
It’s safe to say Buddy wouldn’t trade his truck for a Coupe DeVille, just as Joe Diffie sang in his 1994 hit, “Pickup Man.”
After 12 years, I finally know the truth: Buddy is a pickup man.
