Preparing For Winter - Home and Garage Edition

Let’s talk about insulation. Your homes insulation doesn’t stop at just walls and ceilings, but rather the places you may have over looked while going about your busy days. The garage door is one overlooked aspect of insulation which is why we recommend using a DIY Kit like this one if your door is not already insulated. It’ll keep your garage warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

A second place for insulation that’s often overlooked are the outside water spigots.

This clever Faucet Sock is an inexpensive way to help prevent water faucet freeze-up and avoid costly repairs. The nylon outer shell covers 3M Thinsulate® thermal insulation to guard against wet and cold. Easy to install, just slip over the faucet and secure with the included hook and loop fastener.

To have confidence of sure footing on slick surfaces due to ice buildup, there’s only so much you can do to prepare. The surface can be treated with one or both of these easy to apply and SAFE chemicals for better grip and less danger. The Pet Safe Ice Melt is simply scattered on the surface and melts ice and snow just like salt with the built-in shaker in the bottom of the bag. It’s safe around Pets and the environment so you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

Another easy way to pre-treat your ground surfaces is with this Spray De-Icer, it’s similar to how local municipalities pretreat the roads with beet juice brine. This easy to apply De-Icer will last up to fourteen days on the surface.

A little more hardcore is our Propane Powered Torch, when you can’t wait and need to melt some ice and snow there’s no better way to do it than with fire. Propane Powered Torch melts snow and ice, and the adjustable flame control lets you thaw frozen pipes. In the summer you can use it to control weed problems as well.

Ultimate in full body warmth after a good jacket is this Rechargeable Heater that fits around your neck. By keeping your neck warm you are helping all the blood passing through your arteries warm as well, thus keeping your whole body warm. That’s at least my theory when using this Heater during the COLD months in Ohio.

Looking for a little warmth while working outside? A Hand and Pocket Warmer is always at the top of my list, our Rechargeable Hand Warmer is lightweight and super-slim to easily fit in the palm of your hand or in your pocket. Switch it on and in 60 seconds you will have 106 degrees of soothing heat for up to three hours on a single charge. Quickly charges in 1 1/2 hours using the included USB power cord.

We offer many other solutions such as Garage Heaters, Floor Heaters, and Good ol Overhead Infrared Heaters that’ll keep you toasty no matter where you’re standing inside your home.
